Instruction and Student Services is dedicated to the mission of Kalamazoo Public Schools to nurture the dreams of all students and empower all students to contribute to a better world.
Philosophy of Instruction and Student ServicesInstruction and Student Services provides leadership and supports to staff educating over 12,000 students in the district to improve student achievement. The department focuses on school improvement, curriculum, instruction, assessments, and professional development. Supports are provided through monthly meetings, targeted sessions, individual coaching, and professional development. This includes developing curriculum with teachers, providing guidance documents, developing and initiating assessments, problem-solving, assistance with data analysis, school improvement, data analysis, and services.
