Woods Lake Elementary will be undergoing substantial mechanical updates this year. To facilitate that work, the school community will be temporarily relocating for the 2023-2024 school year. All programs will continue during the temporary move and that includes the following: Dance, Communities In Schools, Kids In Tune, and Gilmore Piano Labs.

• The building must be vacated in order to do the extensive amount of work required.

• It is not possible to have students remain in the building during construction due to replacing HVAC and fire suppression systems.

• There is not one vacant building in KPS to accommodate all WL students.

• Next year’s K-3 students will relocate to South Westnedge.

• Next year’s 4-5 students will relocate to Oakwood.

• Students will return to 3215 Oakland Drive for the 2024-25 school year with an enlarged south parking lot and drop-off area, relocated playground, new windows, classroom casework, new lockers and air conditioning.
